The National Outdoor Play Day Is the perfect day to encourage children to play outside again. What is Outdoor Play Day?

The National Outdoor Play Day takes place annually in June. In 2025 this day will fall on Wednesday 11 June. The Outdoor Play Day is an initiative of Jantje Beton and children's channel Nickelodeon. The purpose of this is to encourage children to play more outside, because playing outside is not only healthy, but also good for social development. During this day throughout the Netherlands, playgrounds will be festively decorated and local residents organize games, sports activities and fun children's programs. The day is all about movement, having fun together and getting to know new friends.
